european qualifications for the biggest tournament in the world for b-boys and b-girls for the first time in Poland
Between 16th and 17th May, for the first time in Poland, european qualifications for the FREESTYLE SESSION EUROPE 2009, the biggest breakdance tournament in the world, will take place. Qualifications will be hosted in the Silesia City Center shopping mall, which is owned by the event’s sponsor.
Freestyle Session is a prestigous and popular breakdance tournament held yearly in USA. Eleven previous editions attracted thousands of b-boys and b-girls from all over the globe. For some of them it was the first step towards worldwide fame and career. Freestyle Session winners are often dancing in top stars’ music videos and during their tours.
This year Poland is going to be an arena of the european leg of the tournament’s qualifications and best european crews already confirmed their presence. Alien Ness, the famous american b-boying guru, will be hosting the competition with silesian mc El Cookizo acting as a co-host. Machine (Rock Force Crew/USA), Cros 1 (Los Angeles, USA) and Kruk (WHSB/FPC, Poland) will create a group of experienced and widely recognized judges, whose respect and acclamation are going to be seeked by the contestants. The music part of the tournament will be taken care of by european specialists in funky breakes – Dj Woo-D (Slovenia), Dj Scream (Ukraine) and Dj Przeplah (Poland).
The best are going to win the invitation to take part in the Freestyle Session finals in USA, plane tickets and the title of the european b-boying representation. It’s the most valuable prize in the history of the breakdance tournaments organized in Poland! The owner of the Silesia City Center mall in Katowice is the qualifications sponsor.
In addition, as a part of the FREESTYLE SESSION EUROPE 2009, one of the most famous dancers in USA, known from the film Step Up 2, Jeffrey „Machine” McCann is going to host a series of workshops in the FUN CITY club in the Silesia City Center.
